I am an experienced Registered Manager with over a decade of service at Homestay Care, where I have worked since 2014. I hold a Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care, demonstrating my strong knowledge of leadership, compliance, and high-quality care delivery. Throughout my career, I have been committed to supporting both staff and service users, ensuring safe, person-centred care and maintaining high standards across all aspects of the service.

have been an integral part of Homestay Care since its establishment in 2011, working alongside my wife, Anne-Marie Mayland. Over the years, I have contributed significantly to the organisation’s growth and success, initially serving as Training Manager where I played a key role in developing and supporting staff. More recently, I have transitioned into the role of Accounts Manager, bringing the same level of dedication and attention to detail to overseeing financial operations and ensuring the continued stability of the organisation.

I began my career with Homestay Care in 2017 as a community carer, where I developed hands-on experience supporting clients and understanding their individual needs. In 2024, I transitioned into an office-based role as an office administrator, building my organisational and coordination skills. More recently, I have progressed into the role of Care Coordinator, where I am responsible for managing staff rotas and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This journey reflects my growth within the company and my commitment to delivering high-quality care and effective team support.

Michelle Johnston

Quality Care Co-ordinator

I joined Homestay Care in 2025 as a Quality Care Co-ordinator with a strong background in social care, complemented by earlier experience in finance and administration. Since entering the sector in 2018, I have developed a thorough understanding of both frontline care and the operational processes that underpin high-quality service delivery. My career progression from hands-on support work to an office-based role managing client records has enabled me to build extensive knowledge of compliance, documentation, and care standards, leading to my current focus on quality assurance and best practice. I have completed specialised training, including Train the Trainer qualifications in Medication and Moving & Handling, a Medication Prescriber course, and the Oliver McGowan programme, which support my ability to develop staff and promote safe, effective care. With strong organisational and IT skills, I am committed to maintaining high standards, supporting teams, and continuously improving outcomes within care services.

Office Administrator

As an Office Administrator, I am responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the workplace. My role involves managing schedules, handling correspondence, maintaining records, and supporting staff with administrative tasks. I act as a central point of coordination, helping to organise meetings, manage office supplies, and ensure that processes run seamlessly. I hold an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care and bring many years of experience in customer service and pharmacy work, which has strengthened my communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments. With strong organisational skills and a proactive approach, I contribute to creating a productive and well-structured working environment.
